NewsNews of what's happening to give you an idea of the work of the Friends. 3rd Annual General MeetingOur 3rd Annual General Meeting will be held at the Sandringham and District Historical Society Inc., 6 Waltham Street, Sandringham on Sunday 8 August 2010 at 2.00pm. Following the AGM will be a talk on Mary Hardy and the screening of This Is Your Life featuring Hardy.. Members and non-members alike are welcome to attend the AGM Book: The Centenarians: Life's Quiet Sunset (2nd Edition)We are pleased to announce that a 2nd edition of our first book titled The Centenarians: Life's Quiet Sunset is now available. Such was the popularity of the first edition that all 70 copies were sold before the book launch. The A5-sized book comprises 172 pages and 48,000 words with an index of over 800 names. It is a rich source of genealogical information of birth, death and marriage records, burial details, wedding notices, emigration and shipping records, death and obituary notices, probate records and notices, electoral rolls, military service records, newspaper articles and publications, as well as extracts from the Victorian Government and Police gazettes. The aim of re-Member is to preserve, share and collate information whilst remembering the lives of those who lie buried in the Cheltenham cemeteries. The Friends believe that each person is worth remembering and that no life is any less interesting than those who were in the public eye. re-Member compliments our Connecting Descendants service.
